Vermont History Day Educator Workshop, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Vermont History Center, 60 Washington Street, Barre, VT

This in-depth workshop will examine the different options for Vermont History Day projects and demonstrate ways to incorporate the program into your classroom or school. Both new and experienced History Day educators are encouraged to attend.  Send in the registration form or register online.

Student Help and Research Day at the Vermont Historical Society, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Vermont History Center, 60 Washington Street, Barre, VT

Students can receive help with their projects, research Vermont history topics at the library, or consult with History Day experts. Pre-registration is recommended. Contact or (802) 828-1413.

Registration Deadline at 11:59 pm for ALL entries including project titles and website url addresses. This deadline is in place to allow for time to arrange details for the contest, including judging rooms at UVM. Late entries may not be accepted.

Use online registration system or printable entry form.

The registration fee is $8.00 per student. Credit card payments can be made through the online registration system. Checks can be mailed to the Vermont Historical Society, 109 State Street, Montpelier, VT 05609.  Registration fees must be paid before the state contest.

Monday, March 23, 2020

Submission Deadline for all historical paper and website entries. Judges receive these entries before the contest date and need time to read and review the projects before meeting with students.

Papers - email papers to by midnight.
Websites - access to website editing closes at midnight. Remember to publish before the deadline.

New for 2020 - Cancellation Deadline: Schools or parents are responsible for payment of the registration fee for all students registered for the contest on this date. Registration fees for students who cancel after this date will not be refunded except under extenuating circumstances.

Changes to titles, categories or participants made after this date may not be reflected in judging assignments or documentation.

Monday, March 30, 2020

Submission Deadline for all documentary entries. Students must submit their documentaries online by midnight. See instructions for details.

The early deadline is in place to help alleviate technical difficulties at the contest. Judges will not view documentaries before meeting with the students.
